Tecnico informatico del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Istituto di Metodologie per l’analisi Ambientale dal 2007. Al CNR-IMAA ricopre l’incarico di Responsabile dei Servizi ICT e APM GARR. Dal 2024 è anche membro del Comitato Tecnico Scientifico del GARR. Inoltre, gestisce l’infrastruttura ICT dell’unità Data Center ARES dell’Infrastruttura di ricerca Pam-europea ACTRIS. In questi anni si è occupato principalmente di networking, sicurezza informatica e ambienti di virtualizzazione."
Abstract
CNR: un esempio di standardizzazione per le infrastrutture di rete.
Il CNR è il più grande ente di ricerca italiano ed è composto da numerosi Istituti, ciascuno con autonomia finanziaria e decisionale, anche in ambito ICT. Il CNR-IMAA e il CNR-ISTI collaborano da tempo, una sinergia che ha portato alla definizione e condivisione di standard comuni per le rispettive infrastrutture di rete. Queste infrastrutture sono state sviluppate in collaborazione con il GARR, al fine di abilitare, ad esempio, l’erogazione di servizi distribuiti tra più data center.

He has been an IT technician at the National Research Council – Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis since 2007. At CNR-IMAA, he is Head of ICT and APM GARR Services. Since 2024, he has also been a member of the GARR Technical Scientific Committee. He also manages the ICT infrastructure of the ARES Data Center unit of the ACTRIS Pan-European Research Infrastructure. In recent years, he has worked primarily on networking, cybersecurity, and virtualization environments.
Abstract
CNR: an example of standardisation for network infrastructures
The CNR is the largest research institution in Italy and is made up of numerous institutes, each with financial and decision-making autonomy, including in the ICT domain. CNR-IMAA and CNR-ISTI have been collaborating for some time — a synergy that has led to the definition and sharing of common standards for their respective network infrastructures. These infrastructures have been developed in collaboration with GARR, with the aim of enabling, for example, the provision of distributed services across multiple data centres.
