Biografia
Laureato in ingegneria elettronica nel 2001 presso l’Università di Roma "La Sapienza" con una tesi sul protocollo IPv6, si è sempre occupato di networking. Nel 2004 ha iniziato a lavorare al GARR nel Network Operation Center (NOC). Dal 2007 ha coordinato le Operations e dal 2011 il NOC, gruppi responsabili dell’esercizio della rete IP e trasmissiva del GARR. È stato responsabile dell’implementazione dei progetti di evoluzione dell’infrastruttura di rete: GARR-X (2011-2013) e GARR-X Progress (2014-2016). Dal 2022 nel gruppo Rete a Pacchetto del GARR si è occupato della progettazione dell’infrastruttura IP della rete GARR-T e della sua implementazione. Nel ruolo di Géant APM (Access Port Manager) cura tutti gli aspetti tecnici relativi all’interconnessione della rete GARR con le rete pan-europea Géant. Parallelamente alle attività in ambito networking, dal 2020 è responsabile per GARR dell’adozione delle normative in materia di sicurezza informatica e della gestione del rischio.
Abstract
NIS2: indicazioni operative per la comunità
Il decreto legislativo n.138 del 2024 ha recepito a livello nazionale la Direttiva (UE) 2022/2555 (NIS2), che mira a rafforzare la resilienza delle reti e dei sistemi informativi in tutti gli Stati membri dell'UE garantendo un livello comune elevato di sicurezza informatica. Gran parte degli enti GARR, appartenenti alla comunità dell'istruzione, della ricerca e della cultura, sono rientrati nell’ambito di applicazione della normativa. L’ ACN ad aprile 2025 ha pubblicato le cosiddette specifiche di base che costituiscono le misure di sicurezza che le organizzazioni devono adottare nel corso del 2026 per risultare conformi alla normativa. La presentazione ha lo scopo di illustrare le specifiche di base e fornire una serie di indicazioni pratiche sulla loro interpretazione ed implementazione.

A graduate in electronic engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2001 with a thesis on the IPv6 protocol, he has always worked in networking. In 2004, he began working at GARR in the Network Operation Center (NOC). Since 2007, he has coordinated Operations and since 2011 the NOC, the groups responsible for the operation of GARR's IP and transmission network. He was responsible for the implementation of the network infrastructure evolution projects: GARR-X (2011-2013) and GARR-X Progress (2014-2016). Since 2022, in the GARR Packet Network group, he has been responsible for the design and implementation of the IP infrastructure of the GARR-T network. In his role as Géant APM (Access Port Manager), he manages all technical aspects relating to the interconnection of the GARR network with the pan-European Géant network. In parallel with his networking activities, since 2020 he has been responsible for GARR's adoption of cybersecurity regulations and risk management.
Abstract
NIS2: operational guidelines for the community
Legislative Decree No. 138 of 2024 constitutes the national transposition of Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (NIS2), which aims to strengthen the resilience of network and information systems across all EU Member States by ensuring a high common level of cybersecurity. Most of GARR institutions, part of the education, research, and cultural communities fall within the scope of the regulation. In April 2025, the ACN published the so-called basic specifications, which constitute the security measures that organizations must adopt during 2026 to comply with the regulation. This presentation aims to illustrate the basic specifications and provide a series of practical guidelines for their interpretation and implementation.
